Abdeali Saherwala is a first year, Masters in Environmental Management student at Yale University, who is specializing in Energy and Policy. He has completed his Bachelor’s in Environmental Studies with a specialization in Urban and Regional Environments from York University (Toronto). His main interests are environmental justice, climate justice, energy justice, clean energy deployment and sustainable development from an energy perspective. During his undergraduate degree, Abdeali has worked as an Indigenous Law Researcher for the Indigenous Environmental Justice Project at Osgoode Hall Law School and has worked as a Student Researcher for Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada on creating policies for the recycling of electric vehicle and photovoltaic batteries. Furthermore, he is working as a Food Justice Researcher for Michigan’s Food Justice Project led by Dr. Dorceta Taylor. In conclusion, Abdeali hopes to make a difference in the world of environmental and social justice through the lens of energy, sustainable development and food accessibility.
