My name is Emily Rau, and I will be graduating this May from the University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability with an MS in Environment and Sustainability, specializing in Aquatic Science and Management. I was a Doris Duke Conservation Scholar at the University of Michigan from 2017-2018 and an alumni scholar for Summer 2019. I am from Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2019 with a BS in Environmental Sciences. I grew up in a coastal community along Lake Michigan, which inspired me to have a career in protecting the Great Lakes and restoring communities' connection to the water. Without the Doris Duke Conservation Scholars Program, I would not have attended graduate school or pursued my interests and gained professional experience in water resources and management.
