Associate Director, Arabella Advisors

Gabriel Jones brings experience in the philanthropic, nonprofit, and academic sectors, with a focus on environmental justice, program management, policy analysis, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. He is currently an Associate Director at Arabella Advisors, where he manages project teams to support institutional foundations, families, and individuals develop grant making strategies and implement environmental justice grant making programs and other equitable initiatives. He also serves as project manager for the Fund to Build Grassroots Power, which is a multi-million dollar participatory grant making fund that directs resources to environmental justice organizations to build their capacity and power. Prior to joining Arabella, Gabriel was the Membership and Equitable Initiatives Coordinator at the Environmental Grantmakers Association (EGA), where he helped spearhead alumni network development opportunities for the Environmental Fellows Program. Gabriel holds a dual master’s degree in Environmental Justice and Urban Planning from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from California State University, Dominguez Hills. He also serves as Co-Chair on the Chicago Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy (EPIP) Steering Committee, and  he was previously on the EGA Fall Retreat Program Committee and an Advisory Community for the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation’s DEI Capacity Building program. Gabriel is a proud Southern Californian, now living in the Midwest, and forever-explorer of food destinations and natural spaces.
