MS/MBA Student, School for Environment and Sustainability and Ross School of Business
University of Michigan

In my second of three years in the Erb Institute MS/MBA program at the University of Michigan’s School for Environment and Sustainability and Ross School of Business, my academic background and early career path reflect my deep interest in environmental and social issues. From organizing Montana farmers and ranchers around environmental issues to supporting major utilities in developing consensus strategies for efficiency and demand response, I have been drawn to work that coordinates and facilitates complex, cross-sector interests and obligations to develop solutions to some of our most pressing climate issues. In graduate school, where I study climate policy and sustainable business, I have built on my experiences and education to support businesses in greenhouse gas accounting, science-based target setting, and supply chain engagement; to develop the financial model for a comprehensive energy efficiency and weatherization program for low-income Detroit homeowners; and to identify opportunities to use machine learning for more efficient and equitable public and environmental health outcomes.
