Manu Maunganidze has been an educator and artist for the past 12 years. His main interest is in using creative outdoor education as a way of inspiring nature connection and healthy relationships among the young people he works with. He has always been excited and inspired by the outdoors, but has also been aware of the lack of access to this privilege that exists in minority populations in the United Kingdom and elsewhere in the West. He set up his current organization, Nature Youth Connection and Education (NYCE), to fundraise and deliver outdoor activities for urban youth from low-income and other marginalized backgrounds. Maunganidze is a campaigner for environmental justice and a diversity and inclusion consultant within the green industry. He works with environmental corporations, charities, and campaign groups to change the ways in which they work so that they become more aware of the inequalities within environmentalism that affect minority groups. This work finds ways towards better recruitment practices and more conscious and compassionate marketing strategies.
