Allie Douma is originally from Richmond, VA, but their family has since moved to Washington, D.C. Allie graduated from Colby College in 2020 with a double major in Environmental Policy and Global Studies. Throughout their degree Allie focused their coursework on environmental justice. Allie also conducted research and recently published a paper on how Georgetown Guyana’s adaptive capacity to climate change has been impacted by their colonial history. After graduating Allie worked on a farm in Washington State for a season and then worked as a grant writer for the housing justice organization, Miriam’s Kitchen in Washington D.C. Allie is now pursuing an MEM degree to study food justice and community development through an environmental justice lens.
