Andrea is a program officer at the Island Foundation (Marion, MA). Her current efforts in philanthropic program management focus on environmental and education issue areas in the northeast U.S., with an emphasis on supporting the people doing this work through addressing equity, access, coexistence and conservation fatigue. She is also an interdisciplinary community scientist working to improve ocean and human health, an educator and an artist. She comes to this work with an interdisciplinary background with a B.S. in Wildlife Biology and B.A. in Studio Art, an M.A. in Marine Biology, a PhD in Pathobiology and a certificate in Public Health. She conducted her postdoctoral work at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. First and foremost her goal in all her efforts is to listen and learn.
