Jamesa is a creative, thoughtful leader with 10 years of experience in cross- disciplinary research, technical writing and grassroots advocacy focused on environmental justice, community and human rights. As a native Detroiter, Jamesa is passionate about protecting society’s most vulnerable people and places through advocating for transformational systems change. Jamesa Johnson Greer gained valuable internship experiences working in corporate counsel, compliance, and environmental protection/remediation. They deepened their commitment to community-based organizations as a student attorney with the Wayne State University Transnational Environmental Law Clinic and as a member of the Michigan Environmental Justice Coalition. Johnson Greer’s research experience on topics such as food access and security in underserved communities in Michigan, the legal and human rights statuses of refugees impacted by climate change, and original research presented to the American Psychology Association on the mind of young Facebook users, has shown them the value of both quantitative and qualitative research in strategic decision-making and advocacy. As a native Detroiter, their objective is to utilize my diverse skillset to advance society and leave a better place for future generations.
