Kate Gehrke is a Master of Environmental Management (MEM) candidate at the Yale School of the Environment. She recently graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Environmental Sustainability. Kate is from the Chicago area, where she worked with the University of Chicago’s Environmental Neuroscience Lab and measured the environmental quality of natural areas in Chicago neighborhoods and the variances in pro-social and pro-environmental behavior after exposure to different surroundings. During her time at Yale, Kate hopes to explore the intersections between ecofeminism and food justice in the United States and globally. In her spare time, Kate enjoys yoga, her plant collection, and baking.
