Sabal Dangi is a first-generation Nepali American climate advocate and environmental engineering student at the Colorado School of Mines. His work sits at the intersection of climate science, policy, and environmental justice.

Raised across the American West and East Coast, Sabal developed an early awareness of how environmental systems shape both ecosystems and communities. In California’s Central Valley, he founded the region’s first grassroots youth climate organization and helped advance three climate-related bills into California law, focusing on equitable climate policy and community resilience.

At Mines, Sabal is pursuing environmental engineering while exploring geophysics and public affairs to bridge technical research with policy implementation. His academic interests include high-altitude environmental systems, waste management in fragile ecosystems, infrastructure resilience, and the integration of scientific data into decision-making frameworks.

Sabal aspires to become an intersectional climate scientist committed to advancing rigorous, community-centered solutions to global environmental challenges.
