Sandi Marra

Prior to taking on the staff role of President and CEO of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC), Sandi Marra had worked in service to the Trail and the Conservancy for over 35 years. Volunteering at both at the local and national levels, she has served in a variety of roles including President of the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club and Chair of the Board of Directors of the ATC. Her professional background includes executive management roles in both non- profit and for-profit large-scale organizations. She holds a Master of Science in Personnel and Human Resource Management from The American University’s Kogod School of Business with an undergraduate degree in English Literature from Rowan University.

 
Before joining ATC in 2019, Sandi had her own consulting firm through which she provided strategy and development services for nonprofits including strategic planning and organizational change management, board development and training, and board-staff relations. Prior roles included Chief Operating Officer of a $20 million nonprofit organization supporting educational and service programs for developmentally disabled children and adults and Vice President of Human Resources for a 1500 person IT Government Consulting firm. Sandi now lives in Harpers Ferry with her husband, just a short walk from ATC Headquarters and the Appalachian Trail itself.
